Internet fraud comes in many shapes and sizes. Phishing and scams being a large part of them. If you fell victim to internet fraud, please make sure to always contact your local authorities. If you lost money or crypto to any form of internet fraud while using LiteBit, please contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org. Our fraud team can provide additional details in some cases, which can be useful for your police report.
Due to various scams you can be tricked into sending crypto to a scammer. Usually you still have full control over your LiteBit account. If your login credentials are compromised and an attacker has access to your LiteBit account, you have to take action as soon as possible.
Please follow these steps if you think your LiteBit account is compromised:
- Contact our fraud team by sending an e-mail to email@example.com. This mailbox is continously monitored. Our fraud team will freeze your LiteBit account as soon as possible. Freezing an account means that no transactions can leave the platform.
- Change your password on your LiteBit account (if possible). If your account was breached and the password is changed, you can request a password reset. You can do so at the login page.
- Change the password on your e-mail account. An unauthorised person may have access to both your LiteBit account and your email address. We therefore recommend that you change the password of your e-mail account
- Enable two-factor authentication(2FA) on LiteBit and your e-mail account. Please see the following link on how to set up the two-factor authentication (2FA). Please refer to the documentation of your e-mailprovider to enable 2FA on your e-mail account.
