IP Validation is a security measure LiteBit uses to protect our customers. When logging in from an unknown location or device, we send you an email containing a link. When you follow this link from the same location or device as you’re trying to log in from, we can confirm it’s actually you.
Step By Step IP validation guide
- When you first log in from a new device or network, you will be presented with this screen. Click the button Start IP address validation to start the process.
- You should now receive an e-mail with which you can validate your IP address. If you have not received this email, first of all check your spam folder. If it is not in there, please contact support. The e-mail you receive should look like this. Always double check if you are on the right website, even when you clicked this link: Look for the 2525 Ventures certificate.
Before you click the link, make sure you are on the same network as from where you are trying to log in from. For example, opening the e-mail in the same Internet Browser as you are trying to use LiteBit from.It will not work to open LiteBit on your Wi-Fi connected laptop, and clicking the link on your 3G/4G connected phone. Always check if the same network is used, and preferably use the same device to open the e-mail.
- Clicking on the link will confirm the current IP address of your account, and you are now able to use LiteBit from there. From now on, that IP address is linked to your account, and you will not have to validate this IP address again. Note: A phone connected to 3G/4G often switches IP addresses, and you might have to validate again. Occasionally a home network can also change IP addresses.
Why do I need to verify my IP every day even when using the same at home/work?
Some providers give a new IP every day/week to their customers, for this reason, you might need to verify your IP more often than others.
